Working with Me

Hiring a new Heating, Ventilation, or Air Conditioning Contractor can be daunting, which is why I’ve compiled a list of some of the most common questions I get from new clients. If your question isn’t answered, please feel free to get in touch and I’ll help you as much as I can.

How do I know if I need HVAC assistance?  How do I know if I need an HVAC contractor?

Q: What are some common HVAC problems?

A: Some common HVAC problems include poor air quality, limited airflow, and inconsistent temperatures. These issues can be caused by several factors, including clogged filters, improper installation, or damaged equipment. It is essential to address these issues promptly to prevent further damage to your HVAC system.

Q: What are the signs that my HVAC system needs repair?

A: Signs that your HVAC system needs repair include unusual noises, unpleasant smells, and increased utility bills. If you notice any of these issues, it is essential to contact a professional HVAC contractor as soon as possible to evaluate your system's condition and repair any damage before it worsens.

Q: How often should I have my HVAC system maintained?

A: It is recommended to have your HVAC system maintained at least once a year to ensure that it is running efficiently. Routine maintenance includes cleaning and inspecting your system, as well as identifying and repairing any potential issues before they lead to costly repairs.  New installations done by Murray's HVAC Systems come with annual inspections at no additional cost.  We will even call you to remind you!

Q: Do you clean air ducts?

A: NO!  Cleaning ducts tears them!  If filters are replaced on a regular basis as recommended for your system, you should not need to clean the ductwork.  If for some reason they are blowing dirt through you vents, replacing the affected ductwork may be the solution.  Torn ductwork results in heating or cooling lose.  Replace them! Don't clean them!  You'll be happier in the long run and ultimately save money over cleaning them.

How can you help me be comfortable that the job will be finished on time and on budget?

Q: Is your work warrantied?

A: All new systems are backed by the manufacturer's warranties.  All parts used in service/repair calls have their manufacturer's warranties. I also warranty all of my work.

Q: How does Murray's HVAC estimate the cost of a job?

While I do everything I can to ensure the job is done on time and on budget, occasionally surprises happen! Some things might not be seen until the job has started.  No additional work will be done until the situation is fully explained and options discussed.  Only with YOUR permission will any additional work be done.  I promise to NEVER try to up-sell on a job!
